Richt Talks Recruiting & More

Read on to see everything Mark Richt was saying following Tuesday's practice.

On Braxton Berrios:
He'll be in the game so he'll get balls thrown to him. If the defense lines up a certain way, he will get balls thrown to him. Other times, we'll run it. A lot of itdepends on how the defense lines up. The coverage often dictates who gets the ball.

On Jeff Thomas and Mike Harley potentially becoming starters early:
They're a lot like Nkosi in my mind. Before we talk about who may be starting, I want to see what all the young guys can do. We have a pretty good idea of where we will put them but that can change.

On Lawrence Cager's progress:
He looks good. When he's running routes and making adjustments, he looks good. He hates his brace but needs to wear it. He's been going full speed but we don't want contact right now. I doubt he'll have contact this spring but he's making good progress.

On the hot start in recruiting:
Nothing is done until signing day. We all know that. I think we have the right kind of people who are choosing to commit because they love the place and not because we're pushing them to commit. We'll see how it goes as we move forward.

On if getting early commitments helps:
All those kids know each other. They want to play on the same team with great players. A lot of your commitments become your top recruiters. We have a lot more of that energy this year than we did a year ago. Last night was an exciting night. When you're having perceived success, recruiting is fun.

On tomorrow's Pro Day:
I'm excited. We have 15 guys. Guys who played here at Miami and are now draft eligible, those are guys who will be here. I'm about to have a pre-game meal with all of them and I'll tell them how much I appreciate them and how much we love them.
