Thursday Q&A with Thomas Brown

Read on to see everything Thomas Brown was saying following Thursday's practice.

Thomas Brown, Offensive Coordinator, Running Backs coach

On the frustrations of young players…

“I think it’s tough for young guys coming in who are used to playing a lot in high school, who have such high expectations for themselves and do not play as much as they want to. Everybody always has unrealistic goals at the beginning for what they do when they first get to school, but I think they’ve done a real good job this spring as far as locking in mentally and focusing on their assignments. Some really good practices back-to-back.”

On what to look for in a young QB…

“There is a lot that goes into that. Command of the offense, from an assignment standpoint make sure everyone knows what to do, command and poise in the huddle, protecting the football, and overall operation of the offense.”

On quarterback play in practice so far…

“Quarterbacks are doing a good job. The competition is going to be stiff. Like I said before, the competition is going to go well into fall camp and we’ll continue to compete and we’ll add one more guy this summer.”

On sophomore wide receiver Ahmmon Richards…

“I think the great thing about Ahmmon is that he’s not full of himself. He knows he can get better and wants to remain humble so he can continue to work harder to become better than he was before which is scary.

On Dionte Mullins:
I think its tough anytime for a guy who had high expectations for himself and he doesn't play as much as he wants to. He's done a good job this spring of locking in mentally. He's put in good practices back to back.
