LB Now Has 35 Offers

Reading, Pa. standout running back/linebacker James Bryant was pretty excited to start his season recently.

"Man, it seemed like it was forever since the end of last season," he said. "You have no idea how glad I am the season is here. I'm having so much fun out there."

Bryant helped his team get off to a strong start two weeks ago by scoring three offensive touhdowns and registering three sacks on defense. His team won 48-0. This past Friday, Bryant had three more sacks, one interception, and 16 total tackles in a 41-7 win.

"It'a a decent start," he said. "As long as we keep winning, I'm straight. I just do everything I can to help make that happen."

Bryant, 6-3 and 240 pounds, is one of the top rated defensive prospects in the entire state of Pennsylvania. The amount of phone calls and scholarship offers that he's already gotten help prove that.

"I'm up to 35 offers," he said. "It's crazy because I'm trying to wait till after the season to make my decision and that means that all these schools keep calling."

Bryant said his phone hasn't stopped ringing since Sept. 1.

"Virginia, Michigan State, West Virginia, Pitt, Penn State, Iowa, Wisconsin, Boston College, I can't even name them all," he said. "I'm trying to wait before narrowing it down."

Bryant was previously being recruited by the University of Miami but said, "Miami is one school that I haven't heard from yet this month. I was hoping they would but they haven't."
