ATH Has UM on His List

Bradenton (Fla.) Bayshore standout quarterback/defensive back SirDarean Adams has spent the last two Saturdays watching college football games.

"I went to Gainesville to watch Florida last week," Adams said. "They beat up on San Jose. Then I was in Miami for their game against the Gators."

Adams said he was glad he got the chance to see a great football game on Saturday.

"That was tight," he said. "It was back and forth but Miami made more plays in the end. The crowd was loud, I had fun."

Adams, who has played several different positions at the prep level, is being recruited by both programs along with several others.

"I've talked to a bunch of coaches that have called," he said. "I talked to Art Kehoe from Miami. They want me, talked about coming in for a visit."

Adams said the Hurricanes are one of the schools recruiting him as an athlete.

"They said we'll figure it out if I go there," he said. "I do want to stay on offense though because I want the ball in my hands. I feel that's where I belong. Nebraska offered me as a quarterback. Other schools have talked about running back, wide receiver, defensive back."

At 6-1 and 205 pounds, Adams has been clocked at 4.42 over 40 yards and has a 35-inch vertical jump. He's off to a good start this season. He says it's hard not to focus on recruiting a little bit.

"There's so much action, it's hard not to think about it," he said. "I'm gonna try going to the FSU/Miami game too. I know I'm gonna visit Ohio State and Nebraska and I'm trying to set something up with Michigan State too. And I like the Florida schools but I don't know if I'll need to take an official visit to them or not."

When asked if he had a favorite, Adams said, "nope."
