DT: "Miami's a Great Program"

Georgia offensive/defensive tackle Eric McLendon tried to stay relaxed over the summer months.

"We had a break but we still focused a lot on the upcoming season," McClendon said. "Our defense is really strong right now and I'm just glad we're playing again."

McClendon, 6-6 and 288 pounds, helped his team create a 0-0 tie last weekend after starting the season with a win. "I'm doing pretty good," he said. "I just want to win."

The talented defensive tackle said he's trying to get back into the relaxed mode but it's been difficult.

"All the recruiting stuff and the phone calls can get crazy sometimes," he said. "Georgia and Auburn are calling the most. I'm just trying to take the whole process one day at a time."

McClendon had previously listed an offer from the University of Miami. He still likes the Hurricanes.

"Oh yeah, I'm real high on (the Florida schools)," he said. "All three of them I'm interested in visiting. Miami's a great program but I haven't heard from them yet."

McClendon, who may have to spend his first semester at a prep school, said it's so early that he couldn't even come up with a top five.

"I'm in no hurry at all to get into that," he said. "When the time comes, I'll make my decision but I'm just taking it one day and one step at a time."
