Tyler Friday says the Hurricanes offered him on Monday.
"Blessed to receive my 20th offer from the University of Miami"
At 6-foot-3 and 265 pounds, Friday is a 4-star defensive line prospect from Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey. He plays some defensive end but lines up mostly on the interior and is being recruited as a defensive tackle prospect.
Friday's Nike Camp numbers from earlier this year:
31-inch vertical jump
As you see, he's a very good athlete for someone his size and that's a big reason why he's being recruited nationally. Some of his earlier offers came from schools like Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, and Tennessee. He's taken unofficial visits to Michigan, Penn State, and Ohio State already this year and those three schools are considered the front-runners.
The Canes have just one defensive tackle commitment currently in the 2018 class -- Nesta Silvera. Miami currently owns the nation's top-ranked 2018 recruiting class.
