"Got offered from the U"
Those were the words of Newark (NJ) Barringer High standout quarterback Zamar Wise.
A Class of 2019 recruit, Wise led his team to a 3-8 season as a sophomore in 2016. He completed 62-percent of his passes for 1,489 yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He added 540 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.
Wise, 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, is listed as a pro-style quarterback but like every other quarterback the Hurricanes have recruited since Mark Richt got the job here, Wise is a talented and proven runner as well.
Maryland, Rutgers, and Temple were Wise's first three scholarship offers. Several other major programs -- including Notre Dame and Penn State -- are recruiting him but have not yet offered.
Wise becomes the third known quarterback in the 2019 class to be offered by the Hurricanes, joining JT Daniels (CA) and Spencer Rattler (Arizona).
Miami currently owns the nation's top-ranked 2018 recruiting class.
