"Blessed to receive an offer from The University to Miami!!!"
Those are the words of Al'vonte Woodard, a 5-star wide receiver prospect from Lamar HS in Houston, TX.
Woodard, 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, is one of the best wide receiver prospects in the entire state of Texas. He put his name on the recruiting map as a junior last season by catching 42 passes for 909 yards and 15 touchdowns.
At a Nike Camp back in February, these were his testing numbers:
33-inch vertical jump
35-foot power toss
Those are excellent numbers for a player his size.
Woodard, who attended Junior Day at Texas A&M earlier this year, had early offers from schools like Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, and Ohio State. He's continued adding major offers in recent weeks, as Alabama, Florida State, and Miami have now offered since the spring evaluation period started.
He's a big time prospect in every sense.
The Canes currently own the nation's top-ranked recruiting class and it features three wide receiver prospects. They clearly want to add a 4th and it's unclear who it'll be. You can now add Woodard's name to the list of possibilities.
