Canes Offer Local Pass Rusher

The Hurricanes offered a local pass rusher after camp Friday. Read on to learn all about it.

"Blessed To Receive My 18th Offer From The University Of Miami"

Those are the words of Samuel Brooks Jr, a 2019 outside linebacker prospect from Miami Northwestern HS.

Brooks, who finished his sophomore season with 16.5 sacks for the Bulls, checked into a Nike Camp back in February at 6-foot-1.5 and 193 pounds. These were his testing numbers there:

4.62/40
4.20/shuttle
42-foot power toss
34-inch vertical jump

As you can see, his athleticism is top notch and that's a big reason why he made such an impact on the field as a sophomore in 2016.

Some of his other 17 offers include Michigan, Louisville, USF, and Rutgers. He's quickly becoming one of the area's top pass rushing recruits for the 2019 class.

The Canes, who own the nation's top class for 2018, currently have four commitments in the 2019 class. It wouldn't surprise many if Brooks added his name to that list soon.
