DL Torn Between Two

Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater standout defensive lineman Aaron Jones is coming off a strong performance against Lincoln last Friday, although his team came up short.

Jones had a sack that resulted in a safey and had several other tackles and hurries throughout the game.

"I'm just warming up," Jones said. "My body got a little tired late in the Lincoln game because I hadnt played a whole game like that all year. I'm also working on getting quicker and staying lower."

Jones, 6-3 and 265 pounds, is a major recruiting prospect and it's starting to wear on him.

"The coaches call all the time, at all times of the day," he said. "I need to tell some schools that I'm ready to narrow it down. I want to take a few visits."

While Jones still lists about a half dozen schools, he does have two big favorites.

"I'm trying to decide between Florida State and Miami," he said. "I think I owe it to them to stay here. Like LSU, they want me to com but they just got two of the top defensive tackles from their area. I want to see the best players in this state to stay here and play college football."

Jones, who is not considering the Gators, has offers from both programs.

"I'm going to set up some visits real soon," he said. "I talked to Coach Coker just the other night. Coach Haggins from FSU is my boy though. Me and him are real tight and thats why I like them so much."

Jones, who is being recruited by Coach Soldinger from Miami, said he can't really say which one has the upper hand right now.

"I'll know more after my visits," he said. "I cant wait till the Miami/Florida State game. I went to the Florida/Miami game and had a great time. That game should be a lot of fun."
