WR/DB Plans to Visit UM

Lake City (Fla.) Columbia is currently the No. 2 ranked team in the state polls. A major reason for their success is wide receiver/defensive back Rashaun Jones.

Jones has four catches for 60 yards on offense but it's the defensive side of the ball that gets Jones going.

"People never throw my way," Jones said. "I want to make people know I'm there, whether it's making a big hit or a big play. We play Land O Lakes this week and their best receiver is a 6-7, 230-pound tight end. I can't wait to pop him a few times just to let him know I'm there."

At 6-1 and 190 pounds, Jones projects as a safety in college. He's been talking to several college coaches in recent weeks.

"I'm still considering all the schools that have been calling me and asking me to come in for a visit," he said. "Auburn, Tennessee, UNC, Miami, Florida, Syracuse, Central Forida, South Florida, N.C. State, Nebraska, Louisville, Kentucky, and Michigan State (are the ones I'm considering). I know that's a lot but those are all still on my list."

Jones, who claims offers from all the schools on his list, talked more about the Hurricanes.

"When I went to their camp, I got a chance to meet the coaches and players and stuff," he said. "I had fun. They still call me and said they're going to be offering me. I am going to be setting up a visit there, probably for after the season."

Jones said he does not yet have any visits scheduled.
