Parrish Big East ST Player of the Week

University of Miami sophomore punt return specialist Roscoe Parrish was named the BIG EAST Conference's Special Teams Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Parrish (Miami, Fla.) set a school record in Miami's 33-14 win at Boston College. The sophomore wideout had a 92-yard punt return for a touchdown on the Hurricanes' first possession to give UM an early 7-0 lead. The return was also the second-best in BIG EAST history, just two yards short of the record held by Marvin Harrison of Syracuse (94 yards vs. Minnesota; Sept. 23, 1995). Parrish finished the game with four returns for 106 yards (26.5 avg.). He is second in the BIG EAST and fifth nationally in punt returns with a 20.1-yard average.

Running back Walter Reyes of Syracuse was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week and defensive back Michael Crawford of Virginia Tech earned the league's Defensive Player of the Week honor.
