Prime Time DT Leaning to Miami

Nicknamed "Quarterback U", the University of Miami could also be considered "Defensive Tackle U" with all the great players they've produced at the position. One outstanding defensive tackle prospect enjoys that tradition at Miami, and is currently favoring Miami. He talks indepthly about the Hurricanes in this interview.

I remember watching Brodrick Bunkley in his spring jamboree and he was unstoppable. And his game appeared to translate extremely well. I saw him again on tape last week and the Tampa Chamberlain standout is clearly the state's top defensive tackle prospect in my opinion. He's got all the tools to be a difference maker at the next level. The last big time defensive lineman from the Tampa area was Hillsborough's Andrew Williams, who is now starring on the Hurricanes defensive line. Bunkley carries a 2.3 core GPA and has a 950 SAT score. In four games this season, Bunkley has six quarterback sacks. I decided to give Bunkley a call last night.

Which schools have been calling you this month: Coach Teevins at Florida called. Coach Leavitt at South Florida called. Coach Werner at Miami. Michigan State, Virginia Tech, Rutgers, and a whole bunch of other ones.

Which schools have sent you scholarship offers in the mail: Florida, Rutgers, South Florida, South Carolina, and Michigan State. Miami has talked about it and have said they will be sending one, so I'm about 99% sure on that one, too.

If signing day were tomorrow, what's it looking like: If signing day were tomorrow, I'd be going to Miami. They're my favorite.

Have you scheduled any visits yet: Yeah, I will visit Michigan State on October 13. I'll also visit Miami and Florida for sure, but I dont have those dates scheduled yet.

Talk about Miami: I'm leaning towards them right now. They've looked real good so far this season, especially the defense. Right now, it's between Miami and Florida. Coach Teevins (at Florida) knows Miami is my No. 1 choice right now and he's trying to change that. But it's looking real good for Miami.

Personally, I really like our chances here. Bunkley appears to be the total package on the football field. I think he'll give Florida a hard look, but if we do follow through with the scholarship offer, I think Bunkley will be a Hurricane come February. Stay tuned.
