WR Impressed With Performance

Miami (Fla.) Northwestern standout wide receiver Khalil Jones has over 300 yards receiving and three touchdowns this season. However, he's still looking to have that breakout performance.

"I haven't had a real big game yet," Jones said. "I'm looking at Carol City next week as a good time to have one. We got Krop this week then Carol City. I can't wait."

At 6-2 and 215 pounds, Jones has been keeping busy on the recruiting front as well.

"More coaches are starting to call now that they have my new number since we moved," he said. "Pittsburgh and Clemson asked me for a visit and I told them I'll go. Pittsburgh wants me to come in on November 29 for when they play Miami but we'll probably still be playing. I just tell them to schedule everything with Coach (Roland) Smith."

Jones said he plans on taking three other visits in addition to those two.

"Florida State, UM, and Indiana have been calling," he said. "Those will probably be my other visits. I'm not sure yet. I really haven't paid much attention. I just want to play. I'm not a big party guy or anything so the whole official visit thing isn't a big deal to me. I'm going to see the school."

The talented wide receiver said he had a chance to watch the UM/FSU game before their game last Saturday.

"We were all jumping around and yelling back and forth," he said. "Half the guys on our team hate UM for some reason. They're probably mad that UM wins so much. I don't know."

So what were his thoughts on the game?

"Man, I knew UM was going to win," he said. "They were ready and I knew they would be. I liked how they brought out the orange pants and white shoes. It looked different but I liked it."

Jones said coaches from all five programs mentioned have told him he has a scholarship offer.

"They're all good," he said. "I still like UM though. I just want to see some other ones to see what they're like. I really don't know anything about the other ones."

Jones was asked about teammate Trevor Ford and where he might be leaning.

"Trevor be actin crazy about it sometimes," he said. "I have no idea what he's thinking. He's gonna take his visits though."
