"We've clinched the district championship," Ingram said. "Now we (are) just trying to win out and get some momentum going into the playoffs. I've been ballin on both sides of the ball all year but I have no clue how many catches and all that I have."
Ingram, a full academic qualifier, is one of the state's premier prospects.
"I've been bulking up a lot," he said. "I did 280 (pounds) two times the other day and I'm trying to get over 300 soon."
The talented athlete uses his size to his advantage on the field, especially when it comes to outjumping defenders.
"I went to a camp in New York for basketball and we had something to jump at," he said. "I got 37 (inches) on my first jump and then 39 on my second one. I did low 30's at the NIKE Camp because we didn't have anything to jump at. I've hit my head on the backboard (in basketball) before."
Ingram has been talking with various college coaches in recent weeks on a regular basis.
"Miami, Florida State, and USC, those are still the main ones for me," he said. "They all still call. I'm just trying to focus on my season."
Ingram said athough he's been told all year by UM coaches that he's a free safety prospect, he is now hearing thoughts about playing receiver.
"Miami likes me at free safety but they've been watching me as a wide receiver this year (note: it's Ingram's first year at the position) and they like what they see."
The standout receiver said he really doesn't have a preference between positions, although he sees a recent trend in college football.
"You see the big receivers coming on because the DBs are all trying to knock people's heads off and they can't do that to the big guys," he said. "They can't handle us coming off the line, either. It doesn't matter to me, I just want to see the field."
Ingram said he'll know a lot more on the recruiting process after some of his visits.
"Miami and Florida State are still right there and then comes USC," he said. "I've always liked Miami but Florida State is coming on strong. I just gotta take my visits."
Ingram has written scholarship offers from all three of his favorites.
