Big Time RB Has UM Offer

At 6-foot-1 and 218 pounds, Ohio's DeShawn Wynn is one of just three tailbacks in the entire country who have been offered by the University of Miami. The talented runner names some of his favorites, talks about his visit schedule, and talks about the University of Miami in this exclusive interview with grassy.com.

At 6-foot-1 and 218 pounds, Wynn says he gets timed at 4.34 by his high school coaches on track. Watching him on film, he's clearly fast enough. He seems to be the total package as a running back. In six games this season, Wynn already has over 1,100 yards and 16 touchdowns. Inside the classroom, he has a 2.6 GPA and takes the ACT on October 27.

Which schools have been calling you this fall: Basically Michigan, Ohio State, West Virginia, Florida, and Miami.

Which of those schools have sent you scholarship offers: Michigan, Ohio State, West Virginia, Florida, and Miami. My coach knows them all. It's over 40 now total.

If signing day were tomorrow, what's it looking like: I'd say my favorites right now are West Virginia, Michigan, and Ohio State.

Have you scheduled any official visits yet: I go to Florida on January 11 and West Virginia on December 8. I haven't set up the other ones yet.

Talk more about the University of Miami: They've called me a few times, but haven't called in the last week or two. They're basically trying to get my in for a visit. I'm still considering them and will probably take an official visit there.

Personally, it sounds like Wynn wants to stay closer to home and I think it'll be very difficult to get him away from Ohio State. However, he's a big time back that Miami identified early and they're still recruiting him. It would be nice if we could get visits from Wynn, Michael Johnson, and Nick Turner. By getting all three to visit, I would think the chances of landing one of them would be very strong. Stay tuned.
