DB Has UM in Final 4

St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale has been kind to the University of Miami over the years, sending players like Michael Irvin, Twan Russell, and Tavares Gooden to UM. The top prospect this year is defensive back Anthony Reddick. At 6-feet and 190 pounds, Reddick plays both cornerback and safety and isn't sure where he'll play in college.

"Some say corner, some say safety," Reddick said. "It doesn't matter to me. I think they'll figure it out when I get to college."

Reddick, who has three interceptions and two blocked kicks, is one of the top defensive back prospects in south Florida this year.

"The main four I'm looking at are Ohio State, Florida State, Miami, and Georgia," he said. "I don't know which one I like the most yet. I'll need to take my visits. I've been to UM and go to all their home games but I need to see those other schools too."

The talented defensive back said he speaks with UM coaches Randy Shannon and Mark Stoops on a weekly basis.

"They just ask me how I'm doing and we just talk about whatever," he said. "They've told me I have an offer on the phone."

Reddick has written offers from his three other favorites. He talked about what he likes most about UM.

"They produce a lot of good DBs and they always have good players," he said. "They're close to home. Plus, I'm real close with Tavares (Gooden) so it would give me a chance to play with him again. There's a lot to like about (Miami) but I'm still wide open."
