"I played defense last game," Casey said. "I was only in for seven snaps and I had one sack, one forced interception, and I hit the quarterback right in his mouth on the last play. I was in there trying to make something happen."
Casey, 6-6 and 230 pounds, projects as a tight end at the next level. "That's what everyone is recruiting me to play," he said.
The talented tight end prospect has three schools on his short list at this point in the recruiting process.
"It's pretty much LSU, Miami, and Arkansas in no order," he said. "I've already been on visits to LSU and Arkansas. They were both pretty good but the LSU visit was a little more exciting. They were a little more involved. I don't know though, it's hard to compare them because I haven't visited Miami yet."
Speaking of that visit to Miami, Casey has it scheduled although he's hoping it'll get delayed.
"I still talk to them every week," he said. "We scheduled a trip in December, for the 12th. But we'll still be playing then hopefully. If we are, then I'll just move it back to sometime in January. I'm definitely going to visit there, though."
Casey, who claims scholarship offers from all three programs, said he doesn't have a single favorite yet. He is high on Miami, however.
"Miami, I just like them a lot," he said. "They compete for the championship every year and they use the tight end a lot. I'll know a lot more about them, compared to the other two (LSU and Arkansas), after my visit."
Casey is also a Major League Baseball prospect, as he has been clocked at 94-MPH with his fastball.
