At 5-foot-10 and 167 pounds, Ecorse, Mich. standout wide receiver Mario Hines recently finished his senior season.

"We didn't have a real good year," Hines said. "It was tough because we had a real young team."

Hines finished the year with 17 receptions for 545 yards and five touchdowns. Playing defense, he had three interceptions. Hines is now gearing up for track season and preparing to take some official visits.

"I'm lifting a lot now and will start setting up some visits," he said. "In track, I will do the 100 and I might do the 200."

The talented receiver will be taking an unofficial visit to Michigan on Tuesday to check out the Wolverines.

"I'm going to their practice tomorrow to talk to them about a scholarship offer and taking a visit," he said. "I havent set any up yet."

One of the programs that Hines plans to visit for sure is Miami.

"My visit to Miami will most likely be on the 5th (of December)," he said. "I've been talking to Coach CJ a lot. Hes been trying to get me set up for a visit. I'm also looking at setting up trips to Marshall, Arkansas, and Kansas State."

Hines, who has not yet been offered by the Hurricanes, watched the game on Saturday night.

"It was weird watching Miami lose like that," he said. "I knew Virginia Tech would be competitive but the game was a surprise. Miami will bounce back."

Hines said the Hurricanes still have the upper hand, especially if they come through with a scholarship offer.

"I'm hoping everything works out so they have a scholarship offer for me when I visit there," he said.
