Action Heating Up For Walden

At 5-foot-11 and 155 pounds, Edison's Terrell Walden is one of the state's top cornerbacks this year. He talks about the recruiting process, some new schools involved, his current favorites, and offers his comments about the University of Miami in this exclusive interview with grassy.com.

At 5-11 and 155, Walden is one of the top cover guys around. I've liked him a lot since the spring. In five games this season, Walden has over 400 yards receiving on offense and three touchdowns and has two interceptions on defense. Inside the classroom, Walden carries a 2.3 GPA and is working on bringing his ACT from a 15 to a 17.

Which schools have been calling you this fall: Arkansas, Auburn, Miami, Notre Dame, LSU, Florida, Rutgers, and Michigan State.

Which of those schools have sent you scholarship offers: Everyone except Miami and Florida.

If signing day were tomorrow, what's it looking like: Miami's my top pick still, then probably Arkansas and Michigan State. Me and (teammate) Nate (Harris) want to try to go to the same school.

Have you scheduled any official visits: Arkansas on November 16. I go to Rutgers in December, the 14th. I also have a visit scheduled with Michigan State in November.

Talk about Miami: Everything's straight. They're looking good.

Personally, it sounds like Walden may not become a major priority at cornerback until he gets qualified and he said he realizes that's probably what it'll take for Miami and Florida to offer him. But it's good to see he has an impressive list of visits scheduled. Stay tuned to see whether Miami offers him later in the year.
