WR/DB Talks About UM

At 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater standout wide receiver/free safety Kenny Ingram will help his team begin another playoff run this Friday.

"We're trying to get back (to the state title game) and win it this time," Ingram said of a team that lost in the 6A title game last year. "I wish No. 80 (Dwayne Bowe) was back this year and we could play them."

Ingram, who has 25 receptions for roughly 500 yards and two touchdowns on offense this season, has been playing on both sides of the ball. He's not sure what he'll do in college.

"It probably depends where I go," he said. "It doesn't matter to me. I'll ball either way. Just put me on the field. I dont care who I'm competing with."

The talented senior has two programs out in front at this point in the recruiting process.

"Miami and Florida State," he said. "They're my top ones. Me and Aaron (Jones) are going up to Florida State this weekend for an unofficial visit. It's homecoming so we're gonna see what's up with that. I tried getting to Miami this weekend for the Tennessee game but I wasn't able to make it."

Ingram did, however, watch the game between the Canes and Vols and offered up some comments.

"I can't believe how their offense is struggling but it's only a couple games," he said. "They'll be back. Miami's got players but they're young. Ryan Moore, I used to play basketball against him. He's going to be tight someday but he's still young."

Ingram and Jones recently scheduled their official visits to UM for December 12.

"We're gonna go down and check it out," he said. "We'll see what Miami's about. We both have been there before but the official visit is always a little different. I can't wait."

Ingram is also considering taking visits to Southern Cal and LSU but the in-state programs are clearly the ones to beat.

"It would be tight if me and Aaron could stay together," he said. "That's something we're gonna have to talk about. We both like Miami. I can be the next Sean Taylor there. We just gotta see what the best situation for us is gonna be."

Ingram is a full academic qualifier.
