DL Hoping for UM Offer

Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely standout defensive lineman Brandon Daniel is having a solid senior season for the Tigers. "I think we're better than we were last year," he said. "We just have to keep working hard and playing well."

Daniel, who has nine quarterback sacks this season, continues getting plenty of interest from various college programs.

"I've already been on a visit to Virginia Tech," he said. "I really liked it there. It made me feel like I was at home. Tyrone (Moss) went up there last year and liked it so much that he almost signed with them. I'm going to Pittsburgh the weekend they play Miami. Then on the 19th of December, I'm going to Kansas State. Also, NC State is on the 6th. The fifth one, I'm not sure about yet. It'll probably be Florida or Miami."

At 6-3 and 280, the standout defensive lineman said he has scholarship offers from all of his favorites, except the Hurricanes.

"I've been talking to Coach Hargreaves," he said. "They've been watching me. I like them a lot and always have but I have other options right now."

Daniel has several former teammates at Miami and knows a lot about the program.

"They have been in a little funk lately but they'll be back," he said. "The defense is straight."

So with Daniel still waiting on an offer from the Hurricanes, who might have the upperhand at this point.

"It's hard to say," he said. "I really liked Virginia Tech but I will probably like my other visits too. I wont know until they're done. If Miami offers, I would like to be in that situation."

Daniel is a full academic qualifier.
