Ingram Enjoying Season

One of the most talked about recruiting prospects of the year in the state of Florida has been Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater standout Kenny Ingram. The talented wide receiver/free safety is a hot topic of many recruiting discussions surrounding where he'll play his college ball.

However, the reality of the entire situation is that Ingram is more focused on the season.

"That's fine and everything but I'm more focused on our season right now," he said. "We got to the show last year and now we're going into round three. We just gotta win three more."

Ingram, 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds, is part of a stingy Edgewater defense that gave up just three points last Friday night. He doubles as a receiver.

"At safety, I'm just covering my ground back there," he said. "There aren't no big plays being made by the offenses. I'm just doing my thing. On offense, I'd like to get the ball more but, hey, we're winning and that's what matters."

Ingram, a full academic qualifier, said he'll give recruiting more thought once the season comes to an end.

"But then I get into basketball," he said. "We got five guys that are nationally ranked. Our team will be one of the best in the entire country, I think."

The talented safety was scheduled to visit Southern Cal this past weekend but decided against it.

"I really like Miami and Florida State," he said. "It's still real even between them. I really can't say which one I like more. I'm probably gonna visit Florida too."

Ingram, who visits UM on Dec. 19 and FSU on Jan. 9, said there's a lot to like about the two in-state programs.

"They're both close to home and they both have top programs," he said. "They send a lot of guys to the league and I like 'em both a lot. My visits will be a big difference maker, to see how I fit in and everything."
