UM Could Steal One from OU

At 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, Jenks (Okl) standout Jason Carter is beginning to narrow down his list and Miami has made the cut. He talks about the Hurricanes, his current favorites, and more in this exclusive interview with

At 5-foot-11 and 174 pounds, Carter ran a 4.50 on turf at Oklahoma's summer camp. He says he's now a 4.47 kid on track, which means he's a legit 4.52 kid on grass. As a wide receiver, Carter has nine catches for 94 yards and three touchdowns this season. On defense, he has 20 solo tackles, four interceptions, and eight quarterback sacks. Inside the classroom, he carries a 2.7 GPA and takes the test on October 27.

Which schools have been calling you lately: University of Alabama, Notre Dame, Kansas, Kansas State, University of Oklahoma, OSU, University of Tennessee, Colorado State, Colorado, University of Miami, Missouri, Arkansas, and Auburn are most of them.

Which of those schools have sent you a scholarship offer: All of the ones I just mentioned.

If signing day were tomorrow, what's it looking like: It would be Oklahoma or Tennessee. I'd have to go with Oklahoma if I had to choose tomorrow. My other final choices are Miami, Nebraska, Alabama, and Kansas State.

Have you scheduled any visits: No, I haven't. I know which schools I'll visit, though. Miami, Alabama, Tennessee, Nebraska, and Kansas State. I don't need to visit OU because I've seen them unofficially so many times.

Talk more about Miami: I like Miami a lot and I want to take a visit there. They haven't called me since mid September, so I'm not sure where that's going to go, but I'm definitely interested and would like to visit.

Personally, it sounds like an uphill battle for anyone to unseat Oklahoma for this one. We definitely got into the mix, but could be backing off slightly as Carter indicated. It would be great if we could get a visit, but it just seems OU all the way to me on this one.
