Jones Knows Five Visits

While Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater prepares for a state semi-final game at Deerfield Beach to be played on Friday, defensive tackle Aaron Jones is staying very busy with the recruiting process.

Jones is one of the most heavily recruited players in the state of Florida this year. He's scheduled to receive an in-home visit from UM coach Don Soldinger later in the week. He talked about the latest.

"I know that my five visits will be to Miami, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, and Tennessee," he said. "Me and Kenny (Ingram) are taking them together at Miami, Florida State, and LSU. I'm not sure on the other two yet."

It still appears to be a two-team race for Jones, however.

"It's still pretty much between Florida State and Miami," he said. "I'm a little more familiar with Florida State right now so I think about them a little more. When people ask me, I tell them Florida State (leads). It's really pretty even. I need to take my visits and learn more about them."

Rumors were circulating about how Jones had called Xavier Lee to discuss the possibility of playing together at Florida State.

"That's not it," he said. "I wanted to see if he was playing in the (All-American) game or not because he's the best quarterback I've seen. I know he's choosing between Florida State and Auburn so there's the possibility we'll be teammates."

Jones is scheduled to visit UM along with Ingram on Dec. 19.
