OL Has Visit Conflict

Miami (Fla.) Carol City is preparing for a huge fourth round showdown with Killian this Saturday and in the meantime, some of their players are dealing with lots of recruiting attention.

One of those players is left tackle Akeem Robinson, who is in his first full year of organized football. The talented offensive lineman has had a busy week at home and at school.

"Rutgers and Colorado State have already been by the house," he said. "Florida's coming here next week. Miami stopped by the school today and met with me. It was Coach CJ. We just talked about different things."

One of the things discussed was the possibility of an official visit.

"The thing is, I always had in my mind five schools that I wanted to visit and then I'd just go to UM unofficially since it's so close," he said. "But he kept telling me they want me for an official, they want me for an official. He wants me to come in the same day as Willie (Williams), on the 23rd (of January). The problem is, I recently rescheduled a visit with Rutgers for that same day. I know I'm gonna still visit Rutgers so I don't know what I'm gonna do."

The talented offensive lineman said he's running short on visit dates because of Carol City's season.

"Most of all, I wanna win the state championship," he said. "That's the biggest thing on my mind right now. Just win two more. I won't be able to take a visit this week and hopefully not next week either. That leaves only a few open dates to take them. I got Clemson for January 9th, South Florida on the 16th, and Florida on the 30th. I'll fit UM in there somewhere."

Robinson said he's still hoping to receive a scholarship offer from the Canes.

"They've been talking to me all year," he said. "I get a lot of calls and he stopped by the school. I guess they just wanna see a little more of me since I'm sorta new (to the game). I just hope to go out and win and whatever happens, happens."
