OL Talks About Unofficial Visit

Miami (Fla.) Dr. Krop standout offensive lineman Chris Rutledge took a break from his official visits this weekend and used it as an opportunity to stop by and watch UM practice.

"I went down to UM and watched practice," he said. "It was real cool. They were having like a little scrimmage out there. I also got a chance to meet some of the recruits that were taking their visits."

One of the recruits Rutledge met was Canadian lineman Jonathan St. Pierre.

"He was real quiet," he said. "He's committed to them. Coach Kehoe said he really liked him. I also saw Jacky (Claude) and Richard (Clebert) out there."

Rutledge said he spoke to Kehoe briefly on Saturday.

"He's trying to get me and Drew (Miller)," he said. "Jacky too. We're still taking our visits though. I'm gonna be at Florida the same weekend Drew Miller's there so I'll talk to him there."

The talented lineman said he paid close attention to the offensive line at practice on Saturday.

"I was surprised that everyone wasn't really huge like I thought," he said. "The thing is, they're not fat at all. They're all cut up. They play as a real aggressive group. I watched Eric Winston and man, he's pretty good. I could see him leaving after his junior year, which would be going into my redshirt freshman year."

Rutledge, 6-7 and 280 pounds, has already visited Pittsburgh and N.C. State. and plans to see UM (1/30), Florida (1/9), and Rutgers (1/23) in January.

"I just wanna finish taking my visits before I go ahead and make my final decision," he said. "UM's in pretty good shape right now."
