Romeo Davis Interview

Miami (Fla.) Northwestern standout linebacker Romeo Davis is coming off an excellent senior season. "I still have a bad taste in my mouth from the Carol City loss," Davis said. "They had a great defense but I didn't see anything from their offense. Oh well, we gotta move on."

At 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds, Davis had over 80 tackles this season and is now involved in wrestling season.

"I'm 4-1 right now," he said. "I'm going back and forth between 189 (weight class) and 215. I'm gonna run track in the spring. I already have a state ring for track so now I want one for wrestling."

The talented linebacker prospect has been considering wrestling in college but he's more focused on playing football. Speaking of college, he provided an update on the latest.

"I went on a visit to Indiana with Trevor (Ford) and Khalil (Jones) already," he said. "It was alright. I supposed to be taking trips to FIU, Western Illinois, and Northern Illinois later this month but we haven't set up the dates yet."

Davis said he's been talking with coaches from those programs on the phone lately.

"Those schools have been calling," he said. "I also talk to FAM (Florida A&M) and N.C. State called me once last month."

There have been rumors about Davis talking with the Hurricanes in recent weeks.

"They haven't been calling but they stopped by the school about two weeks before Christmas break to talk to some of us," he said. "I'd love to play there."
