Lake City (Fla.) Columbia standout cornerback Rashaun Jones is gearing up for what will likely be an extremely busy month of traveling.

"The whole recruiting thing has been sorta hectic because of all the phone calls and all the coaches coming by the school and the house," Jones said. "Now it's time to have some fun and take my visits."

The talented cornerback prospect has all five lined up for the month of January.

"This weekend, I'll be at North Carolina," he said. "Then I go to Syracuse on the 16th, South Florida on the 20th, Miami on the 23rd, and N.C. State on the 30th. Then I'll come home and make my decision probably that Monday."

Jones said the Hurricanes are still in the picture and he's looking forward to taking that visit.

"Me and George (Timmons) are supposed to go down there," he said. "I've been to Miami before. It's tight. They win a lot and they know how to put guys into the pros. Coach Soldinger came to visit with me last month so I'm familiar with him."

The talented defender said the only school that's called him this month is North Carolina.

"Playing time and academics are gonna be the most important things to me," he said. "I'm gonna look at the depth charts. I wanna play right away so I don't wanna have to wait. I don't wanna go to a place that has a lot of corners there already."

Jones is a full academic qualifier.
