Armour Firm With Commitment

It wasn't long ago that Memphis (Tenn.) Melrose standout defensive back Carlos Armour made his commitment to the University of Miami. He took his recruiting trip to UM over the weekend. "I loved it," Armour said.

"When I made my commitment, I just felt like Miami was the best place for me, the place where I could be most successful and most comfortable. The visit just made me believe all of that again."

Armour, 6-2 and 195 pounds, said he enjoyed hanging out with several of his future teammates. He also had a chance to meet UM coach Tim Walton for the first time.

"The players, they're right tight," he said. "They all have a strong bond with each other. They play hard for each other and they play hard for the coaches. Coach (Walton) is great. I kinda knew him from before but he was just telling me how excited they are to get me in there and start working. He thinks I can make an early impact if I work hard enough. I told him I'll be ready."

The talented cornerback prospect said he sees a chance for early playing time.

"Playing early would be great," he said. "That's my goal. I think there's a chance and now I just have to go out there and get it. I like the situation I'm in, though."

Armour said he's stronger than ever with his commitment to the Hurricanes.

"I've always wanted to play inside the state of Florida and getting a chance to be a Hurricane is an incredible feeling," he said. "I'm all fired up, ready to go. Being down there on my trip made me feel it even more."
