DB Still High on UM

Just three days after returning from his official visit to the University of Miami, Lake City (Fla.) Columbia standout WR/DB Rashaun Jones is still high on the Hurricanes. "Miami's still right up there at the top," Jones said.

"It's probably between them and North Carolina for the top spot. I was really high on them after the visit and now that I've had time to think about it some more, I still am. But I like North Carolina a lot too still."

Jones, 6-1 and 195 pounds, projects as a cornerback at the next level. He's looking forward to making an impact.

"I feel that wherever I go, I'll be able to play right away," he said. "I feel like I can compete with any of those guys. I'll work hard and I'll make plays -- I always have. That's what I'm all about."

The talented defensive back has also visited UNC and Syracuse and plans on checking out N.C. State this weekend.

"I dont know what I'm gonna do yet," he said. "I'll just have to sit down and figure it all out. I'll announce on signing day. I've been talking a lot to Miami and North Carolina so they're just staying up on what I'm gonna be doing."

Jones is a teammate of cornerback George Timmons, one of the state's top prospects at this position. Might they sign together?

"I'm not sure yet," he said. "There's a good chance of that happening. We like the same schools and he's pretty high on the same ones as me."
