Jones Torn More Than Ever

Things haven't gone easy in recent weeks for Lake City (Fla.) Columbia Rashaun Jones. First, he thought North Carolina was the best place for him after taking a visit there along with teammate George Timmons. Then he visited Miami and felt that way about the Hurricanes. Then last week, he found out that UNC is no longer an option before visiting N.C. State this weekend.

"Things have been crazy lately," Jones said. "It just gets more confusing all the time. I don't know what I'm gonna do yet but it's between N.C. State and Miami."

Jones, 6-1 and 185 pounds, has now completed his visits. He's very impressed with N.C. State right now.

"I'm going back and forth between those two right now," he said. "N.C. State, they have a great program. They've been on the rise, the coaches seem real cool, and they got a lot of players from down here (in Florida) playing on the team now. It doesn't make me uncomfortable being there."

The talented defensive back still remembers all the positives about UM, however, as well.

"Miami's Miami," he said. "It's hard to turn them down because they win so much and they're always so successful. Plus, it's closer to home."

Jones said he'll spend the next couple days thinking everything over before announcing his final choice on Wednesday.

"I'll know for sure by then," he said. "That's when I'll get it over with."
