Cane Hoops To Get Plenty Of Airtime

Fox Sports Net Florida will broadcast 10 University of Miami men's basketball games, along with six women's basketball games, during the 2001-02 season.

Coverage will begin on December 27 with the men's non-conference game against LSU at the Nokia Sugar Bowl Basketball Classic. Additionally, the network will carry 10 UM men's Big East contest including home dates against Pittsburgh (Jan. 15), Villanova (Jan. 24), Boston College (Jan. 29), Connecticut (Feb. 2), Notre Dame (Feb. 23) and Virginia Tech (Mar. 2).

Men's road game on Fox Sports Net will include (Jan. 5), Virginia Tech (Jan. 12), Villanova (Feb. 5) and Rutgers (Feb. 17).

The UM women's coverage on Fox Sports Net will begin January 3 with a tape-delay broadcast of the Hurricanes match-up with defending NCAA National Champion Notre Dame. Other games being broadcast on a tape delay basis include Syracuse (Jan. 17), Rutgers (Jan. 28), Florida International University (Feb. 18), Viriginia Tech (Feb. 21) and Boston College (Feb. 28).

The women's contest at Rutgers on January 5 will be carried as part of the Big East Women's Basketball Regional Television package.
