Miami Offers, Lands N'diaye
The Miami Hurricanes didn't see Homestead (FL) Berkshire guard Ismael N'diaye play at a recent event in Raleigh. But, they must have heard he did well because the ‘Canes recently offered N'diaye a scholarship and he accepted.
"He's no longer committed to Kansas State," Berkshire head coach Rolando DelaBarrera said. "Ismael's going to be signing with Miami."
Just a few weeks ago, N'diaye indicated that the Hurricanes were the school he had been waiting on. An October commitment to Kansas State was shaky at best from day one and N'diaye maintained that if the Hurricanes came strong at him, he'd likely wind up there.
"He likes the South Florida area and he has a friend in the program," DeLaBarrera said. "He has a high level of familiarity with the coaching staff and the program and he likes the Big East."
At Miami, N'diaye might find himself playing as many as three spots on the floor. He can handle the off guard and small forward positions now, and is working on adding point guard to his resume.
"You never know how he continues to progress. When someone's that committed to making themselves better, you can't say that they won't be able to do this or they won't be able to do that. I know that as his collegiate career continues he's going to become an even better athlete."
