Notes

The first game will be nationally televised on CSTV. Also on Friday, former Hurricane Cleveland Brown first-round pick Kellen Winslow II will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. The Hurricanes are in the middle of a 22-game home stand to end the regular season. On the home stand they are 10-2 including a 2-1 record over #20 Virginia. SP J.D. Cockroft has allowed three earned runs in 28.2 innings (0.94 ERA) during his last four starts. North Carolina currently is in second place in the ACC behind Virginia. North Carolina SP Garry Bakker has allowed two earned runs in 19.2 innings (0.92 ERA) during his last three starts. 3B Justin Webb (.309, 2 HR 16 RBI) was injured April 4th thus moving Sammy Hewitt from first base to third base. On Tuesday Webb returned to action as a defensive replacement and should play this weekend.
