Notes

The Hurricanes are in the middle of a 22-game home stand to end the regular season. So far on the home stand they are 12-4 including a 2-1 record over #20 Virginia. Two key relief pitchers this season, Shaun Valdes-Fauli and most recently George Huguet, have been kicked of the team due to an undisclosed violation of team rules. Freshman Danny Gil has assumed the role of the closer and has filled in admirably. Cesar Carrillo went to high school in Indiana nearly 200 miles from the campus of Ball State. The Cardinals are led by Brad Miller and Marc Franz who have combined for 25 homeruns and 115 RBIs. Ball State is currently second in the Western Division of the Mid-American Conference behind Central Michigan.
