Morley "Shuts It Down"

Miami Killian standout defensive back Demetrius Morley was thinking about going to UM's camp and then decided at the last minute to check it out.

"I went out there yesterday but I was just chillin on the side," Morley said. "But today, I was shuttin it down out there. Me and Myron (Rolle) from New Jersey. We were shuttin' everything down."

Morley had a chance to work on 1-on-1 and 7-on-7 drills against opposing receivers.

"They had me working at corner," he said. "The only receiver that showed me anything was Jessie Hester. He's alright. He's quick but I locked it down. He ain't catch nothing on me. Nobody did."

The talented defensive back, who finished as the state runner-up in the long jump at 23-9 1/2, said he recently got a scholarship offer from UM.

"I was happy," he said. "They came through. All that hard work is paying off. I like UM a lot. Today I worked with the new DBs coach, Coach Walton. Me and him are real tight. He knows what he's doin out there."

Morley said he's still wide open with the recruiting process and several programs are involved.

"There's UM, Florida State, Oklahoma, LSU, all those," he said. "I'm gonna take all my trips. UM's close to home and everything but I still wanna check out those other schools to see what they got."

Morley finished last season with 60 tackles and six interceptions.
