NOTES

Miami has a 6-10 all-time record against CS-Fullerton. Both teams are hot down the stretch: the Hurricanes have won 20 of their last 22 games and the Titans have won 18 of their last 22 games. Both teams have made been in the College World Series four of the last six years (1999, 2001, 2003, 2004).

STARTING PITCHERS

LHP #44 J.D. Cockroft (9-4, 3.41) vs. LHP #10 Ricky Romero (12-4, 3.36)

Cockroft, a 26th round draft pick by the Texas Rangers, is enjoying a solid senior season. In his career the southpaw has a 25-7 career record and has been named the team's top pitcher the last two seasons. Although he does not possess great velocity he is able to keep hitters on their toes with a deceptive curveball. He is suspect to the long ball giving up a team-high 14 homeruns this season

Romero had a great sophomore season and has won nine of his last 10 decisions. He has a solid fastball that is consistently in the upper 80's and when his curve is working he is tough to hit. On the season he has 111 strikeouts to just 38 walks. The former Los Angeles prep star was named to the All-Big West Conference second-team.
