OL Has Good News For UM

It seemed as though UM offensive line coach Art Kehoe wanted to wait until after summer camp before offering any in-state linemen. That's a big reason why Orlando Edgewater's Matt Hardrick tried getting there.

"I wasn't able to make it because I didnt talk to my uncle (who provides the transportation for Hardrick on trips like that) in time," Hardrick said. "I really wanted to get down there and show them what I could do."

That's OK because Hardrick ended up getting good news from the Hurricanes anyway.

"I talked to coach Kehoe on the last day of May and then I got their offer a few weeks later," he said.

The talented lineman had previously listed Florida State and Oklahoma as co-favorites. Now you can add another team to that list.

"Now it's those two and Miami at the top," he said. "They have all offered now. I like Florida a lot too. I just like hearing what Oklahoma's coaches are saying. They need guys to come in there and make an impact and I think I can be one of them. Florida State, I'm just real familiar with them. Miami's in there too now. I like them a lot -- just look at how they produce. They win and they put guys into the NFL and I like Coach Kehoe."

Hardrick, who will be at Down & Dirty's Camp this Thursday, is widely considered the state's top line prospect. He isn't going to back down from any competition either.

"There will be good competition at any of the top schools," he said. "I don't care about any of that. I am confident in my abilities and I'll go up against anyone. Line 'em up."
