"We're working hard to building this thing back up to where it needs to be in order to get back to the state game. We lost a lot of good people and it's time to replace them."
The talented defender, who is up to 247 pounds on the scale, said he hopes to play this season in the 250-255 range.
"I think that would be about where I need to be," he said. "Playing end more this year, I wanna be able to dominate both against the run and the pass. I've been working on things like staying low too."
Jean-Francois, who is the defending state champ in both the shot put and discus, hasn't been to any other camps since his experience at UM.
"I'm going up to LSU's camp later this month," he said. "Other than that, I really haven't gone anywhere. I wanna try to get down to UM to check them out, watch them workout and stuff."
Shortly after his strong camp performance at UM, The Freak landed a written offer from the Hurricanes. It's one of many.
"I'm just trying to stay focused on getting us back to the state title game," he said. "UM's my leader though -- (I'm considering) also maybe LSU, Florida State, and NC State. Coach Shannon is real cool and I know a lot about the program. I've been trying to work on some of the techniques and stuff that they use."
