LB Talks About UM Visit

Kingfisher, Okla. standout linebacker Curtis Lofton quickly became one of the state's top-rated prospects earlier this year. It wasn't long after that when he became very interested in Miami.

"I had started getting a lot of the recruiting attention and Miami came into the picture," Lofton said. "I was happy. I mean, that's Miami. They have one of the best teams year in and year out. I always said to myself that I wanted to get to know more about them."

The talented linebacker knew he wanted to make a summer decision so he backed his bags recently and made the trip to south Florida.

"Miami's a nice place," he said. "I really enjoyed meeting the coaches and some of the guys. They're a lot of real nice people. However, something was missing from Miami that I guess I thought was there. It's smaller than I thought and I just never got blown away by anything. I guess that's a good thing I took the visit because now I know I'm not as interested in Miami as I was before."

The talented linebacker, at 6-2 and 225 pounds, has narrowed his list of choices down to three.

"I'll make my decision known later this week," he said. "It's going to be out of OU, Oklahoma State, and Kansas State. I have a pretty good idea of where I want to go too."
