Interest Picking Up For LB

Dustin Forston's mailbox has been getting packed full lately. That's what happens when you're one of the top linebacker prospects in the entire state.

"The mail has been coming like crazy," laughed Forston. "A lot of the schools send me personal letters that are written by the coaches themselves. I get a lot of those."

In addition to the handwritten mail, Forston has received three written scholarship offers.

"I got them in writing from Auburn, Pittsburgh, and Kansas, who just offered me yesterday," he said. "UCF, NC State, and Florida seem like they're real close to offering based on what they're saying in their letters. I still get letters from UM a lot too, just keeping me updated on all the latest on what's going on and things like that."

The talented linebacker, at 5-11 and 219 pounds, said he's excited for the season to begin.

"I have to put all that to the back of my mind," he said. "We have a state title to win. If we get to the state game, everyone will get a chance to see me for 15 straight weeks. I'm ready for it. I'm shooting for the (sack) record (in Dade County) so I can't wait."

Forston, a full academic qualifier, said he's not ready to name a favorite at this point and doesn't plan to until he has some more offers to choose from.
