DB Hoping For UM Offer

Miami (Fla.) Coral Reef standout Dorian Munroe has made it no secret that one scholarship offer he wants is from Miami. Nothing's changed. "That's the one I'd like to get," Munroe said. "UM is UM, I mean what else can you say. But right now, I'm trying to focus on my senior season first."

Munroe has been playing both ways for the Barracudas so far this season and has helped his team to a 1-1 start.

"We lost 6-3 to Southridge," he said. "Our defense shut them out pretty much. Then we beat Coral Gables when I scored the game winning touchdown with about a minute left. On defense, teams really haven't been throwing my way too much. It's gonna be hard to get all those picks like I did last year."

The talented defender, at 6-0 and 180 pounds, knows three schools he will likely visit after the season.

"A lot of coaches have been calling and stuff," he said. "I know I'm gonna visit Georgia and NC State and then probably Florida State too. Georgia, I just like the coaches and they're always winning. NC State has a lot of players from this area who are doing well. FSU is close to home and they're a top program too."

Munroe says he's still hearing from UM on occasion but says the other schools are recruiting him harder at this point.

"There's still a long ways to go," he said. "I still need to set up my visits and all of that. I knew all summer that UM wanted to see some of my games this season before offering. I'm just trying to focus and help my team win right now."
