Kareem Brown Interview

The talented defensive lineman was very impressive in the CaliFlorida Bowl last week and he has a very busy January ahead of him. He talks about why the Canes are his favorite and more in this indepth interview.

"I coached Andre Johnson and Roscoe Parrish," his coach said. "And Kareem is as good an athlete as they were."

Brown said right now his main focus is on getting his SAT scores back. "They're due in any day now. All I know is they told me they'll be here this week, so I can finally start taking my recruiting trips."

So what's on the schedule for Brown?

"If they get here, I am going to LSU on Friday," he said. "Then next Monday, I am going to try to visit Oklahoma for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. I'll come back and might take a visit to Florida on the 18th. With the Spurrier thing happening, they're losing a lot of ground and are pretty much out of it. But they're Florida and I have to consider them. If I don't end up going to Florida that weekend, I will go to Michigan State instead. If I do go to Florida, I'll go to Michigan State the following Monday."

Quite a schedule, huh?

"Yeah, it's going to be really tiring, but it's something I need to do. I need to visit these places and find what's right for me. I may only take three of them, and luckily, my last visit is to UM so I won't have to travel as much. I am going there on the 25th."

Brown said he spoke to Randy Shannon on Sunday and came away very impressed with the Rose Bowl performance.

"I got the chance to watch the Rose Bowl and I was really happy for the players there," he said. "I know how hard they worked and they deserve it. Miami is my leader right now, especially since they have offered me. LSU has replaced Florida in second place. Jimbo Fisher has been really nice and upfront with me since day one. I've been to their campus, and their camp so I know what it's like there. But I really love the Hurricanes right now."

Personally, I think Kareem Brown is going to be a Hurricane. I saw him in May and was extremely impressed. That's why I kept talking so highly of him all season. Then he was very impressive in the all star game last week to confirm my feelings of him.
