MetroPCS Orange Bowl Basketball Classic

Where: AmericanAirlines Arena (16,500) - Miami, Fla.

The Miami Hurricanes (1-1) enter their MetroPCS Orange Bowl Basketball Classic match up with Xavier University (1-1) coming off a humbling 60-50 home loss to South Carolina State and are looking to turn it around.
The team will have to play better for them to beat Xavier. The 'Canes were outrebounded by S.C. State after dominating Wofford on the boards. Robert Hite said after the game against S.C. State that the Bulldogs played harder than the 'Canes.
One positive that came out of the game against S.C. State was Will Frisby who scored 18 points in his first game of the season and is expected to start against Xavier. He provided a spark for the 'Canes when there was none on the floor, but he needs help from his teammates.
Xavier is coming into this game off a 66-54 loss to Miami-Ohio. The Muskateers are being directed by first-year coach Sean Mille who inherited two returning starters from last year's team that advanced to the Elite Eight.
The Muskateers are led by 6-foot-9 power forward Brian Thornton who enters the game averaging 9.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. His presence down low will be a real challenge for Gary Hamilton and Anthony King.
Xavier has a balanced attack with all five starters scoring 6.5 points or more per game.
The Hurricanes do hold a 2-0 lead in games played against Xavier, but most of us weren't born the last time these two met up with it coming in 1959 when Miami won 87-69.
