Pou's place?

Bryant McKinnie is gone. So is Joaquin Gonzalez. But help for the University of Miami offensive-line could be on the way. Here are some thoughts from his high school coach on Pou's future.

Although he has a recruiting visit to Florida scheduled, Coral Gables High School offensive lineman Alejandro Pou is leaning towards signing a letter of intent to attend the University of Miami next fall.

Joe Montoya, football coach at Coral Gables, said earlier this week that barring a last second change in plans the 6-5, 235-pound Pou will be joining current UM players and former high school teammates Frank Gore and JonVilma.

"We've talked about it and I think he'll end up going to UM," said Montoya "That's were his heart really is."

Montoya said that Pou would still be going to Gainesville to meet with new Gators head coach Ron Zook and that Steve Spurrier's sudden resignation last week to pursue an NFL job won't have an influence on his decision.

"I think it's a good opportunity for Alex, UM has lost some guys up front," Montoya said.

Pou, a three-year starter for the Cavaliers, was the anchors of the team's offensive line last season and was named to the All-Dade and All-State First Team squads, respectively.

Pou has already visited the University of Tennessee.
