All in all it was a good game. I thought our kids came back well from the game on Saturday. We shot the ball very well. Guillermo I thought got the two quick fouls and he never got into any rhythm, and into the flow of the game. Anthony and Rob had great shooting nights. I am a little bit concerned with our defense. We had a segment there in the second half where we became soft defensively. We gave up too many second shots. We let Matias have too many shots at the basket. I am never going to apologize for a victory. We can use this game to continue to grow as a basketball team. We have to continue to develop our post players. We had some shots in the lane where they missed them. We got to get to the point where they can make some shots. Obviously every night we are not going to have this type of shooting every night from our perimeter guys, so that is something we have to continue to work on.
Were you concerned with a let down after the Florida win?
Obviously with a win like that, you are concerned that you will have a let down the next time out. We talked about that as a team and with our players to help us guard against that. We cannot let that happen. We have had three tough things happen to us this season. We had a tough loss to South Carolina Stat and we showed that we can battle back. We had a loss against a good Xavier team, in a game we played very well. This was a day we had to show that we could battle back from a great win and that was something we hadn't had all year. We had to show that we could battle back and win after a great win on the road.
With your backcourt playing well, is your focus on the frontcourt now?
That is something we really need to work on. Anthony King is getting better, but he still needs some work. Gary Hamilton is getting better, but he is who he is, I liked to see him hit that little 12-foot jump shot, because he can make that shot. Will Frisby has to be more assertive in the post.
What did you think about the atmosphere at FIU?
I thought the crowd was good and Sergio had his club ready to play hard. I know he is going to get great talent over here and the type of team he is going to have is a team that plays hard. We talked to our guys about that, they are going to come after us and we need to fight and scrap for loose balls.
What went through your mind during the 20-7 run to close the first half?
I thought we had to keep playing and get some stops. At that point and time we went zone for a little bit and we were able to get some stops. We limited them to one offensive rebound. At the timeout we talked to them about holding them to one shot. During that stretch, we were able to do that and we were able to get some transition buckets and get it going a little bit offensively.
