Darnell Jenkins: UM or UF?

Is the talented wide receiver from Miami Central still committed to Miami? He answers that question in his own words and talks about each of his two finalists.

The talented wide receiver from Miami Central called me just a few minutes ago to give me an update on his situation.

"I didn't end up going to Florida last weekend," Jenkins told me. "I talked to them on Friday and they asked if I could reschedule my visit for this weekend, and I said that was fine. So I leave for Florida on Friday."

Jenkins, who is a starting wide receiver for the Dade County all-stars, said he's gearing up for a busy couple of weeks.

"I have the visit with Florida over the weekend," he said. "Then the game is Monday. Then I have the visit to UM on the 25th. A bunch of the kids playing in the [Dade-Broward All-Star] game are also going that weekend, like Alex Pou and Max Jean-Gilles. It should be a lot of fun."

So what does that do to Auburn, which was scheduled for the 18th?

"They're out of it now," he said. "I told them I really wasn't interested anymore, so they gave my visit to a defensive lineman. I'm still committed to Miami, but I just want to make sure I'm making the right decision so that's why I'm going to Florida this weekend."
