UM Gets Its Full Back

Georgia running back Jerrell Mabry came away very impressed with his visit to Miami this past weekend. He enjoyed it so much that Mabry made his commitment to UM public last night. "Miami's just the best situation for me," Mabry said.

"It's a big time school and when it really came down to it, nobody else really compared. I really liked the players and coaches and everyone there. The players are all business on the field but they're pretty tight off the field, always hanging out and stuff. The coaches are great. They're real easy to talk to and they know how to coach, putting a lot of guys into the league. Hopefully they can get me there someday."

Mabry, 6-0 and 250 pounds, said he knows his role heading into Miami.

"I know they like fullbacks who can do different things for them," he said. "Willis McGahee started at fullback before he ever got well known as a running back. They play the best guys and I think I can help them pretty early in my career."

Mabry, a full academic qualifier, picked UM over Georgia Tech, South Carolina, and Alabama. He says he's finished with his visits.
