Antonio Clay Update

There have been several conflicting reports today about the status of linebacker Antonio Clay. We caught up with James Grant, the uncle of Clay, this evening.

"As of right now, Antonio is not committed to Miami," Grant said. "He's been real confused about this whole situation. He's decided on a few different schools at different times throughout this process and right now, all I'm saying is that he's not a Miami commitment."

Grant said Clay spoke to a UM reporter earlier today and then had to correct the original story.

"He was talking to a reporter from the Miami Herald today and he told them that he was going to be making a commitment to Miami," he said. "That was a decision he made without talking to his family. I'm his uncle and I've been handling the entire process with him. I don't know where he's going to end up but right now, he's not a Miami commitment. If people think that way, they're wrong."

Clay originally committed to Oklahoma during the summer before taking trips to UM and FSU earlier this season. It appears to be a two-way battle now between the in-state rivals.

"Antonio's 17 years old and he's going to need to sit down and talk everything over with his family before he does anything that's final," he said. "For now, though, he's not a commitment and he'll tell you that but he's not available for comment right now."

Stay tuned, as we'll stay on top of the Clay story.
